Tsunami Shads have been the rage the past 5 years. They range from weighing 1-6 ounces and comes from 2”- 9” in size. The most effective plastic shads to use in the Cape Cod Canal or surfcasting the beaches would have to be the Tsunami Heavy Deep Shads. These lures have strong 10/0 Duratin hooks that can standup to small Bluefin Tuna and have 2 weights (3oz and 4 1/2oz).
When fishing the Canal or breach ways, you need this weight to reach the bottom in such strong currents. Most of us on Cape Cod jig these lures and swim them with a slow-moderate retrieve. The best color would have to be White because it just matches most bait and you can color them to resemble any baitfish. If you place them in a bag with Red Shad Slug-Go’s then it creates a color mixture that is just deadly.
